Local Schools and Business

As part of the role of the Education and Commissioning service within Herefordshire Council the 14-16 Team work with local schools and providers of post 16 education to enable students from year 10 upwards  to access relevant and worthwhile work based learning  opportunities, including work experience placements, CV building and mock interview sessions.

These opportunities can assist Herefordshire young people to decide what career path they want to follow, give them an insight into how businesses operate, develop their confidence outside of the education environment and improve their employability skills.

Employers can often gain future suitable employees from taking part in this service, as well as furthering links between business and the community.

If you would like to offer placements to help pupils prepare for the workplace, or would like further information on the various opportunities and how to engage with them please contact Karen Banks, Work Experience Coordinator on 01432 383331 or e mail kbanks@herefordshire.gov.uk
